Applying New Skills to Find a New Job

July 30, 2018 by Ryan Gallant

David found himself unemployed due to a lack of projects with his previous employer. After a year and a half of being unemployed, David sought the help of LevelUp, delivered by WCG Services.

David lacked confidence in his networking, interview, and resume writing skills. He needed reinforcement and encouragement to find employment. David recognized shortcomings in his self-marketing techniques.

LevelUp offered David workshops covering job search and leadership of self, others and in business. David was an active participant in class. He quickly developed strong leadership, communication, project management and time management skills. He also participated in coaching sessions, mock interviews, and networking opportunities. Through the workshops and coaching, David developed valuable tools to help him find employment.  The LevelUp team helped David format his resume to ensure it was effective in passing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for job postings. David found the programs strengths and opportunities assessment to be particularly helpful.

The team at LevelUp noted that David was very open to learning and applying new ideas in his search for employment. David’s confidence continued to grow over the course of the program. He credits his improved self-marketing and networking skills to the guidance of the LevelUp team.

Since completing LevelUp, David has found employment as a Process Control and Instrumentation Technical Supervisor. He concludes, “I found success because I was able to apply different skills that I learned to network and secured my current employment.”
